Utilization of quantitative electroencephalogram in China: an online questionnaire survey

Abstract Background Quantitative electroencephalogram (QEEG) is a tool that uses computer to analyze brain activity monitored by (EEG) according measurements such as frequency, amplitude, and slope. The purpose of this study was understand the current situation QEEG utilization in China further compare situations among different regions levels hospitals. Methods An online questionnaire comprising 14 questions designed. Statistical description analysis were made for results survey. Results A total 158 people from 134 medical institutions participated participants came 21 provinces, accounting 61.76% (21/34) 34 provincial administrative China. Eastern region accounted 66.42% (89/134) all Among surveyed, routinely used only 23.88% (32/134) them. which used, 87.50% (28/32) them 3A-grade with routine use QEEG, 56.25% (18/32) affiliated hospitals schools. There significant difference between non-3A-grade ( P = 0.040) schools those non-affiliated 0.020). Conclusions still limited are differences regions.
